Preparing for the Temple

Ben Spackman just created a useful new page, LDS Temple Preparation FAQ, aimed at helping those who are planning on going to the Temple. The page answers many common questions and offers helpful advice. Kudos, Brother Spackman!

I think the more a person knows about what to expect, the better he or she will benefit from their first temple experience. Some people don't realize that they will be entering a different world with foreign, ancient paradigms. For those who have been there and seek to better understand the incredibly richness of the experience, it can help to learn about ancient covenant forms and the ancient temple concept in general. With such information, I think it becomes clear that Joseph Smith could not have fabricated the temple experience by turning to Masonry or other things in his environment.

I was lucky enough to have my mom, mother-in-law, and husband give me insights on what to expect in the temple. I hope this page helps others as well.

Brother Lindsay!

I just discovered your website, and was so pleased to realize that the author was you!

I quite enjoyed looking through your writings about the temple - I'll actually be going through the temple for the first time tonight! (I have recieved and accepted my call to serve in the Helsinki, Finland Mission, starting in May)

I googled something along the lines of "preparing to enter the lds temple," and found your sites. Thanks for the interesting read!

Say hello to your beautiful family for me!
Always,
Marsali Crowther

I've tried going to the link at the beginning of your post and get a message that the link is broke. I have a daughter going through the temple soon and would love to share this with her.
