Speaking of Pearls . . .

A hat tip to cool innovator and author Seth Godin for calling my attention to this lustrous moment, a reminder that whoever and wherever you are, your grains of talent may become something surprisingly beautiful if you pay the price and keep at it:

Great job, Paul! His 'Con Te Partiro' is wonderful, too.

I always like to point out that while this first video is the most moving of him, it's pretty amazing to watch the final one where he's now in a tuxedo and being recognized for having won the entire competition. What a great story.

It looked to me like Simon was getting ready to kill someone else's dreams until of course the guy opened his mouth and that powerful voice came out of it. That was amazing!

I loved the audiance's reaction, especially the young people's. This is a demonstration of what truly great talent sounds like, and how it uplifts and motivates. A side by side playing of popular rap may help them realize how empty rap really is.

The best part for me is watching the woman judge. You can see the emotion she's trying not to reveal: "Oh my goodness, is he going to get through this next part? YES! He did it." She's silently cheering and praying for him, willing him to contnue singing beautifully.
