After becoming more open to things, I've been able to appreciate the work Mormonism plays in peoples' lives (when it's positive, at least). <br /><br />And really, the timing of your blog post is fairly ironic. In the news was a debate between Tony Blair and...this one famous atheist (that should be enough info for a Google search). It was about whether religion was more of a force for bad than good. <br /><br />There have definitely been downsides--negative stereotyping of gays, other religions, violent clashes, wars, genocide; all in the name of religious belief. <br /><br />But on the good side are stories like these and stories of charity. It obviously differs from religion to religion (and denomination to denomination), but collectively...I wonder if the downsides outweigh the good sometimes. <br /><br />The audience voted 68% in favor of the atheist's side, but ad populum never appealed to me. <br /><br />Glad your thanksgiving went well!openmindedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15643838710822981863noreply@blogger.com
