No one told me at that time that I had to confess the Lord Jesus with my mouth. Now I know I was saved and born again of God's Spirit.

So why does it say in Romans 10:10 that "with the mouth" confession is made unto salvation.

This does not make any sense to my mind that a person must say it with mouth. Does the mouth save or does believing in the Lord Jesus Christ save?

Thank you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7139169.post-59134705278821188002007-08-13T17:35:00.000-05:002007-08-13T17:35:00.000-05:00We could almost change the entirety of the message...We could almost change the entirety of the message in the OT and the NT by going back beyond the (1)later evolved meaning of words and (2)context of the story.

To apply that consistently to every word, I think we would have unrecognizable scriptures.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7139169.post-14620771800242444272007-08-12T18:04:00.000-05:002007-08-12T18:04:00.000-05:00Wow, interesting stuff. Definitely some obvious covenant themes, but is there any way to know which Greek meanings were the ones used at the time?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11048864927797713323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7139169.post-45309024720202763762007-08-12T15:58:00.000-05:002007-08-12T15:58:00.000-05:00I don't think we should expect the Inspired Versio...I don't think we should expect the Inspired Version to be anything like a restoration of original texts. It was a work in progress, never completed or canonized, that mostly seems to be inspired commentary or corrections of potential misunderstandings for some topics, coupled with some prophetic additions that may convey what happened but need not be what was actually written originally. Don't expect it to be comprehensive or complete. Just my two cents.Jeff Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08776493593387402607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7139169.post-41445322491565121612007-08-12T15:35:00.000-05:002007-08-12T15:35:00.000-05:00Mormanity, in your opinion why didnt the Joseph Sm...Mormanity, in your opinion why didnt the Joseph Smith translation of the Bible clear up these long surviving misnomers that have persisted in the scriptures and make them more plain?
