I imagine you'll meet her in a few weeks when they return from their summer in Utah.

http://www.circustales.com/2011/02/10/mistaken-identity/Tracy Hallnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7139169.post-8428529030018397162011-07-13T20:34:26.321-05:002011-07-13T20:34:26.321-05:00I wonder if it's the hospitality instinct at w...I wonder if it's the hospitality instinct at work. Or perhaps in-group, out-group dynamics. You're visibly a guest or an Outsider so you get the super-polite behavior. We had some of that in Japan. Once, when we were visiting Kyoto, we earnestly explained to the owner of a small restaurant that my sister was vegetarian and asked what on the menu she could have. He did his best to help, then my husband and I ordered the sukiyaki, which is a meat dish. He made a bunch of negative gestures and statements and we kept assuring him it was OK, that we did eat meat. It turns out he was trying to tell us he was out of beef and he actually went out and bought some for us! We felt so bad and were very profuse in our thanks. It's awesome when people are so kind when you're in a strange place, but sometimes it can be awkward.proud daugher of evehttp://pdoe.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7139169.post-58676858527888280262011-07-13T17:11:16.291-05:002011-07-13T17:11:16.291-05:00haha, write more about China please! You deserve the bias. :)Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04687628477778532950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7139169.post-27204898097491117672011-07-13T10:36:07.398-05:002011-07-13T10:36:07.398-05:00You make me want to visit China now!You make me want to visit China now!Openmindednoreply@blogger.com
